Duncan Futrelle / Guitar  



My name is Duncan Futrelle. I am a native of North Carolina, and have been a resident of Rock Hill, South Carolina for the past twenty years. I have been married for over 30 years and have two children. I have been a guitar instructor at Tillman Music for over thirteen years. I became a student of guitar at the age of twelve and have had experiences in string instrumental bands, praise bands, and as a vocal accompanist.
I teach an average of sixty private lessons a week to students of all ages. I enjoying teaching different styles and techniques to my students. Seeing students progress with the guitar has been very rewarding. I enjoy fishing when I can get away for a long weekend.

            Jerry Tillman / Bass


Jerry Tillman began taking formal music instructions from Albert Edenfield of Winnsboro, SC. Later he was a student of Kermit Poovey of Lincolnton, NC and, The Neil Griffin Music School at Tillman Music City, Charlotte NC, as well as Tillman Music, Rock Hill, SC. Jerry has played in and formed various bands and music groups over the years. Currently he is the bass player and namesake of “The Jerry Tillman Band”.

         Jerry and his wife Beverly are members of Lakewood Baptist Church in Rock Hill. They have two sons and eight grand children. 

    Keith Oliver / Drums & Percussion

Keith Oliver has had quite a musical life! Keith learned to play drums very early, and loved playing popular music with his guitarist brother. Together, they formed the dance band, Infinity, which featured music from the Top 40, Beach and Country genre. The act took Keith and his brother into the realm of musical success, performing often, while the two were still in high school. Keith continued formal training, playing drums in the school marching band.

     Keith literally "grew up" on stage, turning 21 while touring with the group, Rhapsody. He has since played with various groups, performing an array of styles, but always in the limelight. Keith Oliver is a well-known and sought-after drummer, performing as a key member of many recognized acts such as The Main Street Blues Band, The Blue Chip Jazz Band, Silly Rabbit, The Mill Village Apostles and The Dan Plowden Band.
    Keith studied under one of the area's greatest local legends, Paul T. Riddle of Marshall Tucker Band. In return, Keith now teaches young drum students in hometown, Rock Hill. He also owns and operates a busy and highly successful recording studio.

Keith FunderburkKeith Funderburk / Drums & Percussion


My name is Keith Funderburk and I have been teaching percussion for over 20 years. Music has been the most important thing in my life as long as I can remember. Drumming is an art and i enjoy sharing that art. I enjoy all styles and genre's of music and have played various styles over the last 40 years. I've been privileged to play with and for some great players. I hold a Bachelors of Fine Art from Winthrop University, which i received in 1993.

I have four daughters and four grandchildren.

Cam Carnes / Guitar, Ukulele, Bass

My name is Cam Carnes. I am a native of Rock Hill SC. I'm a member of Clover Liberty Pentacoastal. I have played in several bands inside the church & it's where I still play regularly. I also played with a local Christian band for a time, 39 Lashes. I studied under a very accomplished musician in Danny Brewer. I like to be a versatile guitarist, meaning I like to play all the styles I can... Blues, Bluegrass, Christian Contemporary, Country, Jazz, Metal & Rock. I excel at breaking music theory down. I enjoy working on the many styles and technics the guitar can offer. I enjoy teaching, and I am excited to be working with The Tillman School of Music. In my down time, when I'm not writing music, I like to relax with my fiancée, hang out with friends and family, go to car shows & see live music.

Willard Brandon Hipkins
Brandon Hipkins:

I am a native of South Carolina with a deep appreciation for quality music education. I attended Nation Ford High School in Fort Mill. I later studied at Lander University in Greenwood. I have performed in numerous ensembles, including the South Carolina Intercollegiate Honor Band. I also marched with Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps in 2012. I have a passion for teaching music—particularly wind instruments and piano. I am a theory-based teacher, especially committed to ensuring my students develop the ability to read and understand music. I joined the Tillman School of Music in 2016. I look forward to helping you achieve your musical goals. 

David Rankin / Violin




My name is David Rankin. I have been on the Tillman School of Music staff since 2015 and have been playing the violin since 1998.Through the years I have played with various orchestras and have had instruction from Various teachers including Dr. Melinda Crawford-Perttu while at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. Paul Davis

Paul Davis

Violin / Voice




Classically trained in Violin from the age of 4, Paul Davis's love for music lead him to study piano, voice, bell choir, guitar, and rhythm in addition to his practice of violin. Paul Davis has performed solo pieces for the Idaho House of Representatives and governor state dinners. His Bachelor's Degree is in teaching classical singing from Trinity Western University in British Columbia, Canada. He has experience playing and singing a variety of contemporary styles including Christian worship (contemporary, gospel, and hymns), bluegrass and Jazz. Paul has been teaching at Tillman's Music for 2 years.
